What we fund

Sunlight Giving helps families access safe and stable housing through:

Prevention

Services to keep families housed and avoid homelessness through emergency financial assistance and legal support, such as rental assistance and eviction protection.

Emergency Shelters

Emergency and transitional housing, including domestic violence shelters.

Systems Change

Policy, advocacy, organizing/base-building, and efforts to improve the system of homeless services and promote the preservation and production of affordable housing in safe and well-resourced communities.

What We Look For

Organizations that address the immediate needs of families with young children experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity while also helping them gain access to stable, long-term housing. We prioritize communities with less access to affordable housing, communities that have gaps in services, and organizations that center the voices and experiences of these communities in advocacy.

What We Don't Fund

Shelters for single adults, housing related to mental health or addiction treatments, permanent supportive housing, or projects to develop affordable housing.
